As the diminutive warrior sworn to uphold the code of Shovelry – slash mercilessly and dig tirelessly! – take command of your ShovelBlade to despatch enemies in this retro, 2D adventure, complete with 8-bit visuals and a chiptune soundtrack.
You’ll face the The Order of No Quarter, eight nefarious knights responsible for taking your lost love. Hack and slash your way through the land; upgrade your weapons and armour by digging for treasure; and unearth relics to upgrade your shovelling skills.
As you progress, the world stages can be tackled in different orders. Defeat the last level and you’ll be able to exhume all the secrets of New Game Plus: play from the start with full upgrades but fewer resources and harder enemies. There’s even a Challenge Mode chock-full of mini games!
You’re not on your own, though: Miiverse Digger’s Diary is a mystical tome that allows you to read in-game messages from other players. Bust out your quill to warn people about traps with anything from a simple word to a sweet illustration. You can even rate other players’ messages with a ‘Yeah!’
